栄西が開いた京都最古の禅寺。
国宝でもある風神雷神はあまりにも有名。
創建800年記念で描かれた双龍の天井画は法堂で見ることができます。
それ以外にも襖絵など見ごたえ抜群。
四条河原町から207番のバスで東山安井へ。そこから徒歩７分です。
